I play guildwars loads

i have been playing now for nearly 4 years i have completed all the Storielines and consider myself an experianced player

However i have just started to play WoW, im not finding it too easy to get into. i would like people oppinions in the differances i.e pros and cons between the 2 games.

can you please help me to decide weather to play wow or not

Pros: Fun
Cons: Grind

If you got the trial, play it until the trial is over. If you liked it, play it. If you didn't, don't. If you bought the game, play it for a couple of days and see if you like it. Again, if you liked it, play it. If you didn't, don't. It's very different then Guild Wars, and may take some time to get used to. You can't play one MMORPG (CORPG if you want to get technical) for 4 years, switch to a completely different one and like/understand it right away.

NO - All of us GW players need to boycott the "pay to play" system.

Not to mention the graphics of WoW are so 1998. They need to stop beating that dead horse.

The one thing about WoW is that its addictive in a bad way. Yes it can be fun, but you make little progress if you play casually. I have to admit it looks fun if you have about 2-3 hrs to spend on it every day. So ull have to play for a while to get somewhere. Theres also a thread comparing the two, i believe WoW is proven to better by just a bit.

Arky hit the nail on the head with this one. It's not something that we can tell you. You have to make that choice yourself.

Pay to play systems are much better then pay for game and play for many reasons. Also, the graphics are fine, really. Nothing wrong with non-realistic graphics. The game is fun, that's what really matters. Of course, that's my opinion. I prefer gameplay over graphics.

Play a singleplayer game. Buy MotB or Mass Effect or something. Pay the good guys (BioWare and Obsidian) to keep making the good games.

The trial idea is a good one. If you're finding it hard to get into and you're not having any fun playing it then I would say it's not a good idea to pay the fees.

At 70, it gets a little blurry.

Why not?

I know a few people that play it and absolutely love it, the satisfaction of the epic gear and all that whatnot.

Plus i believe they just recently overhauled leveling to make it a hell of a lot faster.

10 (?) million people like it enough to pay monthly, can't be that bad.

Completely off the ball, but if you don't like WoW get Call of duty 4 for a bit of fun xD

I have to agree with this. As much as I hate WoW these days the trip from level 1-60-70 is a journey of itself. But after 70 you grind/raid or you die, guilds won't want you unless you have good gear or a certain amount of arena points. So it shares the same problem with Guild Wars in the sense that there are MANY elitist people that will consider you a nobody unless you spend 8 hours killing the same boss over and over for their loot or you know how to PvP.

I guess I'd just have to say if you can't get into it by level 10 don't bother playing anymore because if you didn't enjoy the trip to level 10 you'll hate the trip to 70.. And that's alright because basically in WoW how "good" you are is depicted by how many times you can repeat the same process... In short it's like paying 15 dollars a month to go to work and some people like that I guess.

GW was designed for convenience and accessibility. You'll not find this so much in WoW. Grind is necessary to keep players playing. WoW is amazing from 1-60/70. The game ends at this point for many players who can't commit a large chunk of their life to organized raiding and grind.

If you're already playing it, stick with it. It's a great experience. I try to go back to WoW occasionally, but have been so spoiled by the ease and simplicity of GW that WoW just seems an exercise in frustration now.

IF you PvP, then going to WoW will be a nightmare beyond nightmares. Stick with GW then.

yeah the grinding ain't bad anymore i got from 20-60 in 6 days with 3-4 hours play only so it ain't hard, i say go for a trial key to see if you like it or not i you don't keep playing GW, i like both GW and WoW so i just play both ;P

I started playing WoW last weekend. i couldn't see myself grinding for 2 years until GW2 just for a title that more and more people have (KOBD R4-R5). If i'm gonna grind(HM,Carto,LSr3,Fow Armor). then the grind is gonna be in a game i have spent 30 months exploring.

instead i opted to grind in a new (to me) game, see new sites. meet new people. (still watching for zinger XD) I will still log on to chat with guildys on GW. However i am haveing a Hugely Fun time with WOW atm. and i say you should try it out. My 0.2

Four years you say? well thats cool, since it hasnt even been out that long, and im sure an experiEnced player would be able to spell correctly.

Counting the beta and alpha testing I think their have been people playing for nearly 5 years. I know at least 1 guild in Gw dates back to 2004/2003. I think ZoS also is around 4 years old.
